Paraconsistent Metatheory: New Proofs with Old Tools

چکیده
Abstract This paper is a step toward showing what achievable using non-classical metatheory—particularly, substructural paraconsistent framework. What standard results, or analogues thereof, from the classical metatheory of first order logic(s) can be obtained? We reconstruct some originals proofs for Completeness, Löwenheim-Skolem and Compactness theorems in context logic with naive comprehension schema. The main result that ‘re-capture’ versions theorems, given suitable restrictions background assumptions; but shift to may recast meanings these apparently ‘absolute’ theorems.

New proofs for old modes
We study the standard block cipher modes of operation: CBC, CFB, and OFB and analyse their security. We don’t look at ECB other than briefly to note its insecurity, and we have no new results on counter mode. Our results improve over those previously published in that (a) our bounds are better, (b) our proofs are shorter and easier, (c) the proofs correct errors we discovered in previous work, ...
متن کاملOld and New Proofs of Cramer’s Rule
In spite of its high computational cost, Cramer’s Rule for solving systems of linear equations is of historical and theoretical importance. In this paper we list six different proofs of it, the last of which has not apparently been published elsewhere. A discussion on their educational value and the tools involved is also included. متن کاملWriting Literate Proofs with XML Tools
Both mechanical proof scripts and programs benefit from documentation and modularity. Designed to be an industrial-strength theorem prover, ACL2 provides powerful support for both of these. The standard distribution includes hundreds of pages of documentation that are automatically generated from function doc-strings in the source code. However, it is still difficult to write easily understanda...
متن کاملPresenting TSTP Proofs with Inference Web Tools
This paper describes the translation of proofs in the Thousands of Solutions from Theorem Provers (TSTP) solution library to the Proof Markup Language (PML), and the subsequent use of Inference Web (IW) tools to provide new presentations of the proofs. The translation enriches the TSTP proofs with proof provenance meta-data, and provides new possibilities for proof processing.
متن کاملExtending Old Compiler Tools with Meta-Tools
There are many tradeoffs involved in choosing between a new, more powerful software tool and an older, more established one. The best way to handle this problem may be to make the old tool more powerful through the use of meta-tools. Compiler tools suffer from this exact problem – we present YETI, a meta-tool that provides a framework for transforming and enhancing Yacc specifications. YETI can...
